Summer is the perfect time to get out your swimsuit and cruise out to the ocean shore. Get into holiday mode and use these tips to pack for the beach this month!
Packing is never easy when you go to the beach. The trick is to pack lighter and smarter. You don’t want to feel like a pack mule trudging in the sand under the blistering sun. Which is why it’s important to plan ahead.
Tip 1: Take a backpack. You may want to take a giant tote bag but let’s face it- it’s easier walking around with a backpack and it frees up your hands to carry other things like an umbrella or sunshade.
Tip 2: Baby powder is great for removing sand. It absorbs moisture from your skin and allows for the sand to easily come off. Sprinkle it anywhere from your hands and feet to your hair. Once you try it, you won’t want to head to the beach without it. If you don’t like using baby powder or prefer using something more natural, you can also use cornstarch and it works just as well. Add this to your backpack!
Tip 3: Baby wipes are your friend. You can use them to wipe off your hands after a sticky round of sunscreen or after eating that juicy watermelon!
Tip 4: Slip, slop, slap! You don’t want to spend the next week remembering your picnic in the worst way. Apply sunscreen BEFORE you go to the beach, wear a hat and having a summery kaftan will not only look fashionable but protect your skin from harsh U.V rays.
Tip 5: Bring water. Plan ahead and place them in the freezer a few hours ahead of time for cool icy water to reinvigorate you while you’re at the beach. Stay hydrated in those scorching temperatures. Check out our new S'Well BPA Free Waterbottles now online in the store

When it comes to choosing plus size swimwear one of the main factors to consider when selecting a style is your individual body type and what styles are most flattering for you.
All of our swimsuits are true to size. This means you should follow your normal sizing.
If you are between sizes, we recommend going up to the larger of the two sizes.
If you are buying chlorine resistant swimwear, we recommend going up a size as the fabric is a little bit firmer.
Any issues, Curvy Swimwear is happy to help you find the right swimsuit for you!
