The Gold Coast is lucky to have a long stretch of beach with each beach more unique than the one before. There is the touristy beach, Surfers Paradise and then there is the blissful Rainbow Bay. Commonly known as ‘Nobbys Beach’ by Gold Coast locals. Nobbys beach is a great long stretch of beach that is much less touristy than Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach. If you’re looking for a day by cute cafes edged by a beautiful headland then Nobbys Beach is a great beach to go visit with the kids. If you find yourself wanting to leave the beach, the headland has a great easy and short walk with views that are going to blow you away. Nobbys is an underrated beach that is going to be much more peaceful than the more popular beaches.
Tallebudgera is also commonly known as ‘Tally’ on the Gold Coast and is a beautiful estuary on the Gold Coast. Tally is located on the other side of Burleigh Hill separated by a lush headland. The flat and calm water is surrounded by the tropical headland that also has a great bush walk linking the two beaches. If you find decide to do the headland walk it will take you over to Burleigh Beach where you can find another beach and plenty of cute shops. A great place for kids to swim in still and calm water.
Rainbow Bay is a great beach if you are looking for a full day trip with the family. The area has 4 different beaches all situated right next to the NSW border. You will find Kirra Beach, Greenmount Beach, Rainbow Bay, Froggies and then you will hit the NSW border. You can spend the entire day at Rainbow Bay and Greenmount Beach and use the headland walk to get between the two. It is a great walk that has spectacular views. Greenmount is closest to the shops where you can find restaurants and shops. If you continue past Rainbow bay you will find Froggies Beach, an ocean pool and if you continue up the footpath you will come to the NSW border and be able to see over the entire Gold Coast.
Now, I’m sure you’ve heard of Surfers Paradise if you are looking to go to the Gold Coast. It is jam packed with restaurants, shops, buskers and the beautiful beach front. It also has markets on every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. On the school holidays you will also find lots of activities and things to do throughout Surfers. It is a great place with lots of things to see and do with the family!
