10 Years of Curvy Swimwear
We’re officially 10! This October marks a whole decade of Curvy Swimwear, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate. What started as a dream on the Gold Coast has grown into an international community of women who know that every body is a swimsuit body. Over the past ten years, we’ve laughed, splashed, and strutted our stuff poolside together - and this milestone is as much yours as it is ours.
Celebrating Curves, Confidence and Community
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Back in 2015, Curvy Swimwear was born out of a simple but powerful idea: women of every size and shape deserve swimwear that loves them back. As a female-founded brand, we set out to create inclusive styles that celebrated curves instead of hiding them. It wasn’t always easy - there were plenty of raised eyebrows and roadblocks - but with every new design, campaign, and collection, we pushed the swimwear industry towards a more inclusive future.
2015 - 2022
2015: Our early collections set the tone - supportive, stylish, and unapologetically designed for curves. 2019: We did our first influencer collaboration with Jenni Eyles. Her Styling Curvy blog was a key contributor to the online body positivity movement locally and abroad. 2021: We made history as the first Australian brand to feature a plus-size swimsuit model in a national billboard campaign, sparking conversations across the country. 2022: We ran our first Post Mastectomy Swimwear campaign after receiving feedback from a lovely customer about featuring women who have lost their breasts to cancer.
2023
2023: We launched The Curvy Pool in Surfers Paradise - a Slim Aarons-inspired space for photoshoots, events, and empowering celebrations. 2023: We were introduced to Splash of Colour, an initiative that helps marginalised women learn to swim. This partnership lead to a collaboration with new modest swimwear pieces added to our chlorine resistant collection. 2023: We tackled the topic of Menopause with Shelly Horton, Nikki Parkinson, and Jenni Eyles, to shine a much needed light on this inevitable life event.
2024
2024: This was the year of our Curvy Confidence Ambassadors. We brought together women from all walks of life to celebrate body diversity and confidence in a variety of shapes and sizes. 2024: We collaborated with curve model and influencer, Maddy Zanatta. Our Tutti Frutti Collection continues to be a favourite among our community.

Curvy Swimwear has never been just about fashion. Over the years, we’ve become part of a bigger movement - one that challenges unrealistic beauty standards and creates space for real representation. From underwire one pieces to chlorine resistant styles, our designs have always been about more than support and shaping - they’ve been about giving women permission to feel fabulous in their own skin.
