Location - Whitehaven, Whitsunday Island

We were very excited to head to Whitehaven Beach for our recent Summer 16 - 17 campaign shoot. Whitehaven is a pristine, award winning beach on Whitsunday Island, the largest of the 74 islands in the Whitsundays. It stretches over seven kilometres and boasts brilliant white silica sand that is among the purest in the world. This made a stunning back drop to our new season swimwear range.

Model - Margaret MacPherson, Bella Model Management

Margaret has been part of pioneering curvy models in the fashion industry and joined us for our Whitehaven adventure. She’s always happy to do any crazy thing we ask to capture that perfect shot. This time it included balancing on the very edge of a tender to capture the last of the sunset while it’s blowing a gale!

5 Min with Margaret…

When did you start modelling?

I started modelling about six years ago in Brisbane, Queensland. I was signed to Dallys Models and was one of the first curve girls in Brisbane getting regular work from various stylist, designers and labels. I fell in love instantly with the work and the creative people in the industry. Dallys then introduced me to BGM Models and the beautiful ladies in Sydney.

Who do you look up to as a role model in the plus size fashion industry and why?

There are a few women I look up to, a number of fellow Australian models who are breaking barriers overseas. I follow their success and are so proud of the milestones they have achieved. It really inspires me to keep working on what I love.

How would you describe your own personal style?

Definitely diverse, I love current fashion trends and staying in style with the season but I also know my body shape and there are a few things I mix up. I adore the classic 1950’s look with high waisted skirts and fitting dresses. It suits my hourglass shape so I always look for current patterns or colours in this style.
