Australia is renowned for it’s beautiful beaches. If you’re looking for some of the best places to visit this season, then head to these beaches this summer!
Burleigh Heads Beach, Gold Coast
A combination of it’s beautiful views and dual popularity with those who like to swim in the protected waters and those who love to surf around the headland, make this beach perfect!
Venture along the rocky foreshore and through rainforest, for the chance to see whales in spring and sea eagles soaring along the coast.
Noosa Heads Beach, Sunshine Coast
An ideal holiday destination, you’ll feel like it’s Summer every day here. For the adventurous, you can take a 4WD over the beaches of the North Shore all the way to Rainbow Beach. South of Main Beach borders on the National Park with its beautiful walks high up along the coastline with breathtaking views – all the way to Fraser Island, koala spotting, rainforests and sandy bays.
Surfers Paradise Beach, Gold Coast
The three-kilometre strip of golden sand between Surfers Paradise and the Pacific Ocean is Australia’s iconic beach. Stroll along the esplanade to discover the beachfront markets or swim in the ocean safely under the supervision of lifeguards.
Whitehaven Beach, Whitsunday Island
Located in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach is one of the world’s most unspoilt and beautiful beaches and not hard to see why it was crowned the number one each in the world. The whole beach is untouched stretching for seven kilometres and is washed by swirls of turquoise, blue and green water. The sand is 98 per cent pure white silica, which gives it a brilliant, near luminescent colour.
Four-Mile Beach, Port Douglas
Witness the spectacular views as you walk along the sandy beach under the tropical sun in Port Douglas. Amazing beach for kite surfing and water activities or simply picnic on the sand as you watch the yachts come in. A peaceful beach, with a rainforest headland, you’ll feel lost in the tranquillity.
Shelly Beach, Sydney
A local hidden treasure, it’s a beautiful secluded beach during the week that’s a scenic delight! BBQ facilities are available at the back of the beach with cafes and toilets adjacent to beach. The water here is calmer than the more popular Sydney beaches, so better for anyone who’s not a strong swimmer.
Manly Beach, Sydney
With its golden sands and refreshing ocean breeze, over 8 million people visit Manly Beach every year. Ideal for leisure activities like surfing and beach volleyball, you’re bound to have a fun day out all year round.
Turquoise Bay, Exmouth
Aptly named Turquoise Bay, you’re swimming in crystal waters within a few metres of Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. Voted one of the top 5 beaches in Australia, it’s the perfect spot to spend an afternoon relaxing, swimming and snorkelling. You’ll see kangaroos and wallabies about in this remote region, with wildlife here protected.
Cable Beach, Broome
Set in Western Australia's Kimberley region, Cable Beach is a 22 kilometre-long stretch of pure white sand, set against a backdrop of red ochre cliffs and fringed by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. If you want to experience something different, why not ride a camel along the beach at sunrise or sunset, or dive in the deep water for pearls.
